Handyman Program
Senior Services Plus, Inc. offers the handyman program to seniors age 60 or older living in the greater Alton area. This program provides access to safe and affordable minor home repairs, maintenance, lawn service, snow removal, and outside work. The intent of the program is to alleviate the fears and apprehension related to having strangers enter the home. The Handyman is responsible for providing a written bid to Senior Services Plus, Inc. with the proposed cost for the services.
The Handyman process includes the following steps:
- Advise Senior Services Plus, Inc. in writing of the bid.
- Senior Services Plus, Inc. will provide a copy of the bid to the clinet
- Senior Services Plus, Inc. will receive written approval from the client for the proposed work.
- Senior Services Plus, Inc. will provide written authorization to the Handyman to perform the work.
- Prior to payment, the client must provide written acknowledgement of satisfactory completion of the work performed.
- The Handyman must submit to Senior Services Plus, Inc. a final invoice for payment.
- Senior Services Plus, Inc. will submit a copy of the final invoice to the client requesting payment.
Handyman bids are not to exceed $5,000. The Handyman may subcontract services, provided the Handyman coordinates with Senior Services Plus, Inc. before entering into a sub-contract relationship. Neither the Handyman, nor the subcontractor will ask for or receive payments from senior clients.
