Full Time Payroll Clerk
Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm

Senior Services Plus of Alton is looking for a Payroll Clerk at our Alton Center


  • Associates Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
  • 2 or more years of work experience in a business, accounting or payroll function
  • Proficiency in Sage/Abila, Microsoft Office Suite, computer programs, Spreadsheets, Databases
  • Knowledge of General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and office equipment including fax machine, postage meter, and copy machine is required.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to track multiple projects and meet deadlines.


  • Full payroll processing for 400+ employees.
  • Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
  • Process garnishment requests
  • Print and issue paychecks
  • Process direct deposit payments
  • Verify timekeeping records and consult employees and managers about discrepancies
  • Prepare W-2’s and 1099’s annually
  • Prepare unemployment tax and quarterly payroll tax reports
  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
  • Maintain staff paid leave accruals, process paid leave requests, communicate balances to staff as needed
  • Process expense reports in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Assist in financial reporting for documentation to funding sources and others
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and funding requirements
  • Prepare 403(b) retirement reports
  • Create and maintain personnel files
