SSP is recruiting volunteers to join our Community Resources Program. This program provides assistance with small honey-do jobs for those in need. Volunteers for this program would provide help with the following tasks:
- Tech assistance
- Changing lightbulbs
- Replacing fire alarm batteries
- Grocery and medicine pick up
- Sharing resource information
- Other small, honey-do jobs as needed
Social Connection volunteers help combat senior isolation by making phone calls to older adults in the area. Volunteers would perform the following activities:
- Make phone calls to older adults and chat with them for a minimum of 15 minutes up to 1 hour per week
- Receive training on calling system on topics
- Be able to call from anywhere
- Need to pass background check and meet for an interview
SSP is seeking delivery drivers to deliver meals to older adults in the Belleville, O'Fallon, and Fairview Heights area. We are looking for someone on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Wednesday mornings for 2 to 3 hours to run a designated route. Mileage reimbursement will be given.
SSP is seeking volunteers to work 8-12 hours per week between the hours of 10am - 2pm to fulfill the following duties:
- Answering multi-phone lines
- Directing visitors
- Stuffing/addressing envelopes
- Filing
- Typing correspondence
- Covering breaks and lunches for staff
- Making follow-up calls
